Common Law - Adopted as Part of Laws of Oregon.
The
common law of England ... as it existed at the time of the American
Revolution as far as it was general and not incompatible
with the nature of our political institutions, or in conflict with the
Constitution and laws of the United States or of Oregon has been
adopted as part of the law of the state, in view of Article
1 Section 2, of the Organic Law of the Civil Government of
Oregon, Adopted July 26, 1845, and of Constitution of 1857,
Article 18 Section 7.
